The Connection manages the Ohio History Center in Columbus and 58 sites throughout the
state of Ohio
The primary function of the design studio is to support all aspects of the History Center’s 60K sf of exhibits, (approx.) 120K sf. of interpretive components at the statewide network of Visitor centers exhibits, historic homes, archaeologic sites, nature preserves and trails.
Design Studio Manager | 8/97 – Present
Key responsibilities include the coordination of daily operations of the design studio staff, [currently 6 full-time] and contractors, exhibit development, project management, art direction and an active participant in long-range planning and initiatives for a variety of History Connection and site projects.
• Develop multiple budgets and support tracking procedures.
Studio’s annual operational budget (currently 310K)– Capital project budgets (totaling approx. 1.2M) – various earned revenue, foundation and grant funded projects.
• Use project coordination skills to build and leading inter-departmental teams; develop working relationships with site partners, community groups and contract clients.
• Present to community partner boards, donors, historic organizations; facilitate workshops for educational and avocational community.
• Skilled in exhibit concept and design development processes, and production of technical drawings; provide art direction to contractors and studio staff.
• Serve an active role as project manager, team member and/or designer when hosting guest curators or national traveling exhibits.
Software: Microsoft Office Suite, MircoStation, experience with Revit and Sketch-up
Project Designer | 6/94 – 8/97
Key responsibilities included developing exhibits from concept through implementation for Center and site projects; working in partnership with site, curatorial, in-house fabricators and facilities division to renovate existing and development of new exhibits. Other responsibilities involved acting in a support role to other designers and project teams.

Key responsibilities included a supporting role to the design studio staff, creating concept and fabrication drawing and participating in all aspects of exhibit installation and object preparation for Center and site exhibits.
